Robert graduated from New College of California, School of Law, in May 1998 and gained an advanced degree at Golden Gate University’s LLM masters program in taxation. Robert’s practice is focused on preventative law. With his new and forward-thinking approach, Shepard helped over 1,000 clients protect their assets and ensured their assets got passed onto the next generation with minimal government interference. He offers basic estate planning legal services, designed to avoid probate; family limited partnerships designed to reduce estate taxes; protect assets, and creating irrevocable trusts. Robert has never had a single trust set aside, a single business agreement held unenforceable, or a single entity disallowed by the IRS or any court. In addition to being an outstanding lawyer, Robert is also a great communicator and a lover of theater. He enjoys fishing and travel.
Meet Susan A. Lieberman – Co-Founder and Author – Y Collaborative
Susan will give you an exceptionally refreshing perspective to end-of-life management. Susan A. Lieberman, Ph.D. co-founded YCollaborative in 2010 to encourage conversation and preparation for end-of-life issues among healthy men and women of all ages. Dr. Lieberman is also an executive coach and author of eight non-fiction books on subjects related to families. They include New Traditions (Farrar, Strauss and Giroux), Venus in Blue Jeans (Houghton Mifflin), and The Mother-In-Law Manual (Bright Sky Press).
Her last book, Getting Old is a Full Time Job: Moving on from a Life of Working Hard was released in 2011. Her newest book is Death, Dying and Dessert. Reflections on Twenty Questions About Dying, Susan is ordained as an interfaith minister and has a certification in thanatology from the Association of Death Education and Counseling. She is also certified in the Myers Briggs Type Instrument and the Spiritual Intelligence Spiral Dynamics Inventories. In 2011, Susan began speaking on end-of-life issues.
Meet Nancy Rust – Co-Founder & President – YCollaborative
Nancy Rust, co-founder of Y Collaborative, is a Certified Senior Advisor and trained Hospice Volunteer. With her vast knowledge, Nancy helps individuals, families and organizations through the sensitive discussions and decision-making process surrounding Advanced Directives, Living Wills, Medical Powers of Attorney, Supplemental Letters, Wills, choices of Healthcare or Proxy Agents and communication of treatment wishes. Over the course of her career, Nancy has assisted numerous families to grapple with various aspects of end-of-life issues. She co-founded YCollaborative specifically to assist individuals with their unique concerns and considerations so that they can maintain control when a crisis strikes, over the quality of their life or to help create a meaningful legacy. Nancy Rust helps to ensure that one has the necessary documents completed so that personal wishes are recorded, freeing individuals and families to put worry away and enjoy peace of mind.
