In La Crosse, Wisconsin not having an End-of-Life plan is a bit…odd

96% of adults in Wisconsin have an Advance Healthcare Directive (AHD) or Living Will, compared to only 30% of all adults nationally.

Bud Hammes is the man behind this success.
As a medical ethicist at Gundersen Health System, Bud has been a champion for difficult End-of-Life discussions before longterm illness or a severe event occurs.
Now, many communities want to introduce the La Crosse program, and Bud thinks his community’s plan could go national. He is talking to doctors and hospitals nationwide to help providers find ways to reduce spending under the Affordable Care Act. His goal: Getting the rest of America to implement End-of-Life plans.
